I am the son of Sue (Ford) Sturm and Bob Sturm. I am the younger (and long desired) little brother of the famous Michael Lee Sturm whom I adore more and more each day. I am also grandson of the great pooh-bah himself, TopDog Ford. (In the picture up above I am looking at Grandpa, who is on his knees out of camera range wearing a silly hat and grinning at me.) I am now in my 7th month of life here on this planet, and loving every minute. Mike says I am lucky because someone carries me around, feeds me, bathes me, and takes care of my every need. I have NO chores and NO homework which I guess is a big plus. I wonder if he has any idea just how much energy it takes to learn to crawl. I am currently working on that big challenge, having mastered the art of dragging myself around the floor using only my elbows. (And Mike thinks I have it made!) My biggest job here in Cleveland seems to be keeping my dad laughing. This is easy to do with a simple smile! He is a push-over. He loves to throw me in the air, sing songs, and play his guitar for me. Dad takes pretty good care of me when there are no grandmas around at my every beck and call. Dad thinks I am great and misses me something awful when he goes to work at the firehouse. Mom gets to see me a lot as her office is right here in the house. Sometimes she travels to Chicago and other places and I miss her a little, but somehow I manage fine without her. I recently went to the doctor (for my sixth month check up) where they tell me I weigh 17 pounds and am 27 inches long. I guess I have some huge head or something (14 inches around) because they measured it 6 times in disbelief. Mom kept reading between the lines and thinks there is something wrong but I know I am developing normally and am very happy so there is nothing to worry about. I hate those shots, so I rip up all the paper in the office to get even with the doctor! I spend a lot of my time in the car taking Mike places. I've been to guitar lessons, shopping, baseball games, lacrosse games, and plenty of hockey (brrrrr, kinda cold in there!) Luckily TopDog and his side kick L2 live close by so I don't have to attend parent teacher conferences and boring things like that. The other perk to that is I am bound to be the only 6-month old baby with his own personal photographer! When not car pooling with mom or dad I love to hang out in my walker or my johnny jump and try to get stuff into my mouth. It ain't easy, but it keeps me busy. I am mildly interested in food and could care less about sleeping, especially at night. I really don't understand my mother's apparent ADDICTION to sleep! What's up with that anyway? So, that's my life in a nutshell. The family seems thrilled with my presence so far. I'll keep you posted as I develop! |
