In late autumn of 1951, William Frank Ford journeyed to Cleveland, Ohio, there to begin his freshman year at John Carroll University.  Four years and many adventures later, he graduated from college and married Margaret Mary Grane, daughter of Joe and Vera Grane.

The little MidWest Ford Family Branch grew and prospered over the next ten years, as Bill continued his education at John Carroll and then at Case Institute of Technology.   By 1965 there were four children, the family was settled in North Olmsted, Ohio, and Bill was doing research in nuclear physics at NASA's Lewis Research Center.
